Possible health food included but not intended
This is the second food guide for Ubud, this time it is not necessarily cheap, but in most of the places you will find cheap dishes. This is also not specific health food, but in most of the places there will be healthy dishes on the menu.
Again I have tried not to have to many places on here, in order not to confuse you more than I help. So let’s get right into it, and let’s find out where you are going to eat tonight:)
Is a restaurant located on Jalan Dewisita, close to the football field. They serve a large selection of different Western and Indonesian dishes, the prices are fair and there is something for everyone, so you can bring the family. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available! No msg.
On Jalan Gootama serves up Indonesian fusion cooking that really hits the spot, creamy curries, delicious salads and flavorful dishes in general. The place is busy, so either go for a late lunch, early dinner or call ahead and order a table the day before. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available! No msg.
The Melting Pot
Saloon, bar, pool-hall, sports-bar. This place has many labels, but it is especially known for it’s awesome pub food like burgers, hot dogs and mac’n’cheese. This extremely tasty food is not for the faint of heart, as most of it is man food big on meat, salt and flavors, if you want a skinny salad you better find another place:) Vegetarian options available. No msg.
Is located on the top of Jalan Jembawan and is not to be confused with their little store on Jalan Raya. Just opposite radiantly alive yoga center this gem is located, serving up local and international dishes, with fresh farm produce from local farmers in the area, ensuring tasty and mostly organic dishes, breakfast lunch or dinner, it doesn’t really matter, there is something for all times of the day and for everybody. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available! No msg!
Mamma Mia pizzeria
Has two locations in Ubud, one is located on the middle of Jalan Hanoman and the other is located on Jalan Pengosekan right opposite of Taco Casa. The place is run by a real Italian who build the place around a real wood burning pizza oven. Crispy thin pizzas, homemade ciabatta bread and excellent pasta dishes, When you feel like a pizza or pasta, this is the place to go. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available! No msg!
Is located on Jalan Pengosekan right across from Mama Mia, they specialize in(you guessed it already, didn’t you?) Tacos!!! But also other Mexican dishes like burritos, quesadillas and salads. The food is tasty and fresh, and this is a great ‘when in doubt’ place that always guarantee a tasty filling dish. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available!
The Onion Collective
On Jalan Pengosekan is much more than a mini hotel/hostel/room for rent kinda place. It also has a nice little restaurant serving up a few great dishes, the menu isn’t that big, but the menu is tasty and still varied. So give it a try when you have a chance, I don’t think you’ll leave disappointed. The place also has a co-working space in the back with awesome wi-fi, and it is free to use, but accepts donations. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available! No msg!
On Jalan Sri Wedari a must try when in Ubud. All sorts of different tasty dishes to chose from, ranging from the signature schnitzels, over nasi gorengs to great curries is on the menu. I am personally a BIG fan of the pumpkin curry, so if you are in doubt, then chose that, mmmmh. Vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat available! No msg!
